FAQ

  1. Why is the UPSP heavier than some other tripods on the market?
When developing the UPSP we have concentrated on stability which is the key to steady and successful shooting. Experienced hunters and precision rifle-men require a manageable tripod without compromising stability. The UPSP is the ideal platform to support that goal.
  2. How much does a UPSP weight?
    9.5 kg
  3. What are the measurements of the UPSP?
    Working heights = 80cm to 160cm
    Main bar length = 100cm
Fully extended walking length = 170cm
Fully retracted transport length = 100cm
Fully retracted transport width = 17cm
  4. Why are socks used for the rifle’s front and back supports?
Socks have the ideal compression texture. The material adjusts to various rifle shapes. Unlike leather they do not grip or bind the rifles, and unlike leather they have no ‘shape memory’. They dry quickly, are readily available and replaced at little cost.
  5. How to minimize the UPSP setup time?
Once you have adjusted the length for your heights (main bar under your arm pit) mark the UPSP leg’s extensions with a waterproof marker. For minor heights adjustments just change the angle of the three legs to stay level.
  6. At what angle should the UPSP legs being set?
Sixty degrees is the recognized standard angle between two tripod legs. The UPSP will allow for various angles in both directions as needed.
  7. What maintenance does the UPSP require?
There is very little maintenance required. The ball head needs be kept clean and treated with silicon spray on a regular basis (average use = once per week). All bolts and screws should be kept tight.
  8. Can the UPSP also be used for cameras and scopes?
Yes, a special camera/scope plate is available to mount a camera or scope on the UPSP.
The UPSP can be ordered with two camera/scope plates instead of the rifle support arm (UPSP-C).
